ECM Technika IV parts
The ECM Technika IV Profi espresso machine is one of the models the German company ECM makes. This espresso machine is used for domestic applications, this is what’s called a switchable espresso machine. That means that you can run the machine on a water tank, but also attach it to the main water line.
This single group espresso machine is a domestic espresso machine, but it is equipped with a lot of features you will also find on a commercial espresso machine.
The boiler installed on this espresso machine is a small horizontal model, which has a Heat Exchanger(HX) installed into it. The boiler itself is powered by a 1400W heating element, which can be 110 or 230V. This heating element is controlled with a pressure switch.
As mentioned earlier this espresso machine can be fitted with a tank or main water line. With the main water line the line pressure fills the boiler. In the case of the water tank, the pump pumps the water into the boiler. the pump used on the Technika IV Profi is a pump and motor combination, as you will find on commercial espresso machines. With a motor made by RPM and the low capacity pump made by Rotoflow/Fluid o tech.
The pump pumps the water true the HX towards the brewing group, as with most ECM espresso machines, this is a E61 style of brewing group. This does not mean that all the components are interchangeable between the E61 style of brewing groups.
In the case of some of the smaller models of ECM you only find a steam valve and tube. But in this case there is also a water tube installed. This mainly has to do with the boiler capacity of the ECM Technika.
