The Ma-Ter XP 110 125 pressure switch. One of the most used pressure switch models. You can find these switches on some Commercial espresso machines but they are mainly used on Domestic espresso machines. For instande on the Elektra Microcasa. Isomac Millenium, Isomac Mondiale and the La Pavoni Pub.
The thread used a ¼” BSP-G(this is the short threaded version). The pressure reach is 0,5-1.2bar. It is pre-set at 1,0 bar. The switch is rated for 15A at 125/250V.
The Ma-ter XP pressure switches are adjustable. But don’t try to adjust them constantly, the mechanism inside the pressure switch isn’t made for that.
The principle of a spring actuated pressure switch is that when the boiler pressure raises, a membrane goes up and when it reaches the set pressure the contacts will disconnect. This results that there goes no power to the heating element anymore. When the pressure in the boiler lowers the contacts will connect again and the heating procedure starts over again.
