Rocket espressomachine model

The espresso machine manufacturer Rocket Milano produces a variety of coffee machines. Most of those espresso machines use a E61 style of brewing group, which are intended for the domestic market. So the Rocket Milano brand does have for every home Barista a espresso machine.

Rocket espresso parts

On the coffee machines made by rocket are a variety of spare parts used, some of them are universal but some of them are unique to the brand. The disadvantage of this is that those specific types of spare parts, like level regulators, hydraulics and water tanks can be a bit more expensive then a generic spare part.

Rocket portafilter

The portafilters which can be used on Rocket espresso machines can be divided into 3 categories. A single, double and a bottomless/naked portafilter. The ear orientation of these portafilter is 90 degree and the thickness is 5,7mm. These are available in after market and original, both are made from chrome plated brass. But with the original Rocket portafilter you have the brand name “Rocket” casted into the base of the portafilter.

E61 brewing group

The most common brewing group used on the Rocket espresso machines is the e61 style of brewing group. This is also the most common brewing group with espresso machines, but it doesn’t mean that the Rocket e61 brewing groups all have interchangeable spare parts.

The e61 brewing group is a manual operated group with various springs and valve components. Between these internals are not all generic, Rocket uses various ceramic parts which can’t be found on any other espresso machine brand.

Rocket espresso model

the espresso machine manufacturer Rocket makes a variety of espresso machine models, which have various characteristics. You can think about features such as a dual boiler or a model with electronic temperature control. This does depend on which model you have, seen there can be big differences between all those models.

Rocket Appartamento

This Rocket espresso machine is one of the more basic models of Rocket espresso machine. It comes with a single 1300W heated boiler, which is a HX variant. The pressure of the boiler is controlled with a mechanical pressure switch, so there is no PID pressure control.

This specific model can only be used in combination with the internal watertank. And offcourse the Rocket Appartamento is fitted with a E61 type of brewing group.

Rocket Giotto

The Rocket Giotto coffee machine comes in 2 different variations, actually more but those are older, the Giotto Cronometro V and the Giotto Cronometro R. Both these models have a PID temperature control and a Heat Exchanger boiler, but the difference is that the V version is fitted with a vibration pump and the R version with a professional pump and motor.

The older versions Giotto versions where not fitted with the electronic temperature controls, just with regular pressure controls.

Rocket R58

This Rocket espresso machine is one of the dual boiler coffee machine Rocket produces. In this situation you have a small brewing group boiler and a bigger steam/water boiler.  The temperature of these boilers is both controlled with the electronic temperature controller.

But with the Rocket R58 you do also have the famous manual E61 style of brewing group. Where you just need to move the lever up or down to start and stop the brewing process of the espresso machine.

Cleaning your Rocket espresso machine

Keeping your espresso machine clean might be one of the most important maintenance features you need to do. Preferably every single interval you have used it. For cleaning the brewing group you can use puly caff cleaner in combination with a blind filter. For cleaning the steam tube you can use the Brooks Milk cleaner, this easily removes the milk residues from the steam tubes.

Having the right cleaning products is vital to keep your coffee machine in good working condition. If you don’t use the proper products, it is likely that your Rocket coffee machine requires a lot more maintenance.
