Vibiemme - Flowmeter
Most modern espresso machines use a flowmeter on every brewing group, to make sure every single coffee has the same volume. This is also the case with Vibiemme espresso machines, but not with all off them.
How does a flowmeter work? A flowmeter is required when you have a selection touch panel, for instance for 1 coffee. The flowmeter will measure the amount of water going true the meter and shuts down the process when the required amount is reached.
The flowmeters used on VBM espresso machines are made by the Italian brand Gicar. There are 2 models used, one with the in and outlet of ¼”which has a orifice of 1,15mm, this model is used on various commercial espresso machines of VBM like Vibiemme Replica, Vibiemme Cubo, Vibiemme Kometa.
The other Gicar flowmeter is the plastic version which has can be connected with silicone hoses. The plastic version is used on models such as the VBM Domobar.
