The espresso machine on this page is the ECM Mechanika IV profi, this espresso machine does have a lot of similarities with the ECM Mechanika espresso machine but some small differences.
This type of espresso machine is a Heat Exchanger(HX) espresso machine. This means that the water used for brewing coffee is heated by the energy from the steam/water boiler. The HX is placed diagonally true the steam and water boiler.
The heating of the Mechanika IV profi boiler is done with a 1400W heating element, this can be a 110 or a 230V configuration. The heating element in this boiler is controlled with a pressure switch, this is one of few options you have to control the temperature on a ECM espresso machine. on the front of the body you will find 2 pressure gauges, one is for the pump pressure and the other one for the boiler pressure.
On this domestic espresso machine you don’t have a Ulka vibration pump, but a full pump and motor configuration. The motor is made by the Italian company RPM and the pump produces 50 L/H. These are in most cases made by Fluid o Tech/Rotoflow.
The brewing group on the Mechanika IV profi is one of the E61 style type. The version of ECM is slightly different then the others. This type of brewing group is the manually operated version, where you move a lever up and down. Which moves the mechanism inside the brewing group and triggers the pump switch.
