The filterbaskets used in Casadio portafilters are the most common models you will find on commercial espresso machines. The filterbaskets all have a outer diameter of 70mm and can be found in a single, double and a blind filter version. All these baskets are made by the Italian company IMS filtri.
The single portafilter baskets have a outer diameter of 70mm and a depth ranging from 20,5mm up to 24,5mm and can hold around 6-8 grams of ground coffee. The double portafilter baskets have a outer diameter and their depth ranges from 21 up to 26mm. Those baskets can hold from 12 grams up to 20 grams of ground coffee.
For the blind filter you have 2 options, use a regular 70mm blind filter or use a blind filter membrane. With the membrane you don’t have to remove the filterbasket from your portafilter.
For the Casadio you do also have the competition/precision filter baskets. These baskets are also made by IMS filtri. These baskets have a much finer hole pattern then the standard coffee filter baskets.
