This espresso machine has been fitted with a thermos PID system, which means that the temperature control is done based on temperature instead of boiler pressure. The pressure control is still the most used type of temperature control, seen it’s relatively simple and inexpensive.

The PID system works as following, you set the required boiler temperature on the display. When this temperature is not met, a signal is send to the Solid State Relay(SSR). This creates a connection and the heating element is turned on. When the required temperature is met, the signal is turned off stopping the circuit in the SSR. When the temperature is going down the element starts up again.

Other electronical components you will find on the Rocket Mozzafiato Evoluzione R is a level regulator, capacitor for the motor, main power switch and a roller switch for turning on the pump with the e61 brewing group lever.
