La Spaziale S5 - Steam valve

On the La Spaziale S5 espresso machine you have various steam valves. All these valves are operated manually, so without any solenoid valve.

The steam valve on the Spaziale S5 is a valve which is operated by moving a lever vertically to open the valve. The handle is connected to the central shaft in the steam valve. If you operate this handle the gasket holder is pushed inward and the valve opens, so steam comes out of the valve. The valve also closes automatically, seen there is a compression spring keeping pressure on the gasket holder. The steam tube has a ball joint, this makes it possible to turn the steam tube in any direction you want. There are 2 models, a regular steam tube and a “take away” version. this take away version is longer.
