Boiler fittings and tubes
A espresso machine boiler is nothing more then a copper/stainless steel tube where flanges have been welded to. But with just those flanges you can’t use the boiler properly. For that you will need various components such as fittings, tubes, insulation, gaskets.
One of the most common things on a espresso machine boiler is a heat exchanger (HX) tube. In some cases there are welded inside the boiler, but there are brands which have removable heat exchangers, such as various models of Astoria and Cimbali. A vital part for a heat exchanger is the injector tube, this tube injects the “new” water into the heat exchanger.
These boiler fittings and injector tubes also need to be sealed off to prevents leaks. This can be done with the use of copper compression gaskets, PTFE gaskets or fibre gaskets.
