How to select the correct bone saw blade
The safest starting point is the exact bone saw manufacturer and model. If machine documentation is available, check the specified blade dimensions before selecting a replacement. The main specifications are:
- Blade length – the complete band length must match the saw configuration.
- Blade height – for example 16 mm or 19 mm depending on the machine and blade system.
- Blade thickness – do not assume that blades with the same length and height use the same material thickness.
- Tooth pitch / TPI – check the required tooth spacing and teeth per inch.
- Machine compatibility – use a confirmed model application where available.
A matching length alone does not prove compatibility. The complete blade specification and the requirements of the bone saw must correspond.
Machine and model compatibility
Where Brooks Parts has confirmed machine applications, use these together with the technical dimensions. For example, the 1550 × 16 mm bone saw blade with 4 TPI is listed for Fimar SE1550, SE1830 and SE2020 bone bandsaws. You can also browse the wider range of Fimar spare parts for related machine components.
Another example is the 2400 × 16 mm bone saw blade with 4 TPI, which is listed for the Sirman SO 2400 IX CE bone bandsaw. These model references are more useful for selection than choosing a blade only because its dimensions look similar.
Blade height, tooth pitch and thickness
Many blades in this category use a 6.35 mm tooth spacing, corresponding to 4 TPI, but this is not universal across the complete range. Other tooth pitches are also used. Blade thickness can vary as well; for example, the 3100 × 16 mm bone saw blade with 4 TPI is specified differently from various 0.50 mm blades in the range.
For that reason, verify length → height → thickness → tooth pitch → machine application before ordering.
Compatible and original bone saw blades
Check the product page for the stated origin of each blade. A product marked Compatible (non-original) is a replacement part and should not be interpreted as an OEM blade manufactured by the machine brand. Compatibility should always be based on the stated machine application and technical specifications.
