Portafilter spring

When you are using your portafilter you don´t want when you knock out the old coffee puck into the knockbox that your filter basket falls out of it. For this reason a simple solution was found.

Machine a small edge on the inside of the of the portafilter for a stainless steel spring which holds the portafilter in place. There are various models of springs. The stainless steel wire used has a diameter between the 1 and 1,4mm. The most common size is the 3 sides, but you do also have a 5 sided version.

The only disadvantage is that the removal of the filterbasket for cleaning becomes a bit more difficult. For that reason there are various tools available to remove the filterbasket easily.
