Pre-rinse hoses for commercial kitchen wash stations

Why pre-rinse hoses fail

In busy dish areas the hose is constantly bent, pulled and exposed to hot water, detergents and chemicals. Over time, wear typically shows up as:

  • leaks at the crimped ends or swivel connection

  • damaged outer braiding or protective coating

  • internal liner fatigue causing small cracks

  • stiff or leaking swivels due to worn seals

Replacing the hose helps prevent downtime and avoids water damage around the rinse station.

What to check before ordering a replacement hose

To avoid wrong orders, always match these details:

1) Hose length
Pre-rinse hoses are available in multiple lengths to suit different sink layouts and working heights. Choosing the right length improves comfort and prevents excessive strain on the spring and fittings.

2) Connection type and thread
This is the most important part. Check:

  • male or female thread on both ends

  • thread size and standard (not all brands use the same thread system)
    A hose that “looks right” may still not fit if the thread standard or pitch is different.

3) Swivel and seals
Many pre-rinse setups use a swivel coupling. If the swivel is leaking or stiff, you may also need new seals or a matching swivel connection, not only the hose.

4) Hose material and protection
Depending on the installation, hoses can be stainless braided, coated for better grip and protection, or made with different outer finishes. Matching the original hose style helps keep the station durable and easy to handle.
