As mentioned above you do need to pay a bit more attention to which parts you need for the rebuild of your Cimbali M27 RE, seen it’s not a typical Cimbali espresso machine
Differences from a regular Cimbali machine
There are a variety of differences if you compare a “normal” Cimbali espresso machine with the La Cimbali M27 RE. But there are also some similarities, but the most important thing are the differences.
Brewing group
This might be one of the easy noticeable differences. Seen the brewing group used on a Cimbali M27 RE is in fact a solenoid operated Faema brewing group. This brewing group can be found on a variety of Faema espresso machines. The issue with this is you can’t use a standard Faema portafilter on this brewing group as well.
Boiler
With the boiler you have a similar issue as with the brewing group, this is also a Faema part. This can be easily identified, seen the boilers Faema uses don’t have flanges and the ellipse shape of the flange of the heating element. So a Cimbali heating element won’t fit on this machine.
Steam valve
In the case of the steam valve, this is in fact a La Cimbali valve. Which makes it easy to just get rebuild kit for it.
Model types of the M27 RE
The La Cimbali M27 RE espresso machines comes in 2 versions, a model A and a model S. These models do have a lot of features which are similar to each other, but there are some minor hydraulic and electrical differences between them.
They do have in common that the M27 is fitted with a heat exchanger (HX) boiler. The pump used on this espresso machine is a standard La Cimbali motor and a rotation pump.
Cimbali M27 RE A
The La Cimbali RE A model is the volumetric version of the M27. So what does that mean? This means that this is the version which is fitted with a push button panel for coffee selection. For that reason you do also have a flowmeter installed.
Cimbali M27 RE S
In the case of the M27 RE S version is that this is the non volumetric version. The push button panel does only have a start/stop option, which need to be done manually. Besides that the espresso machine is identical to the other one
