This OEM/original Rancilio portafilter gasket seals the portafilter against the group head during brewing. When the gasket becomes hard, flattened or starts leaking, it should be replaced to restore a proper seal and stable portafilter fit.

This gasket replaces the older Rancilio part number 36301046.
