History of Grimac espresso

The Italian manufacturer does have quite a long history, seen it was founded in 1966. Which makes them one of the coffee machine manufacturers which are over half a century in business. But in the beginning they where a service and parts provider. The first espresso machine models came in the 1990’s. Nowadays they have quite a lot of decent and solid espresso machine models.

Models made by Grimac

The Italian brand Grimac has made over the time a variety of espresso machine models, most of them are based on E61 style of brewing groups.

Grimac G10

The Grimac G10 is a commercial grade coffee machine, but it is still quite compact. It comes in a 2 and a 3 brewing group option. The boiler installed on this machine is based on the heat exchanger(HX) principle. Where the water going towards the brewing groups first flows true cylinders which are orientated diagonally in the boiler.

The brewing groups used on the Grimac G10 are the well know E61 style of brewing groups, these are solenoid operated ones. The Grimac brand does also have models which use the manual operated brewing groups.

The G10 comes in 2 versions, the basic one is a non volumetric espresso machine. The other version is a volumetric espresso machine. For that reason this model does also have a touchpanel with coffee selection options.

Grimac G11

The Grimac G11 coffee machine is one of the other espresso machines Grimac produces. This is also a espresso machine which is based on the HX principle. This coffee machine is also available in a 2 and a 3 group version.

This coffee machine does not come with the “famous” E61 style of brewing group. This coffee machine comes with a other more common brewing group. This is called the ring brewing group. This is also a solenoid operated brewing group.

This coffee machine comes in a volumetric version, as well as in a non volumetric model. In most cases you see that most barista’s nowadays prefer the volumetric versions. This mainly has to do that this is a lot easier to work with.

Grimac Eclisse

The Grimac Eclisse is one of the older espresso machine models of the Italian brand Grimac. This coffee machine is also based on the HX principle to get hot water towards the brewing groups.  The brewing groups used on this coffee machine are both a E61 style of brewing group. But it is available in one which is solenoid operated and one which is operated manually.

The Eclisse is available in a 2 and a 3 group version, where the 3 groups just has a slightly increased boiler. But plenty enough of capacity for a busy bar or restaurant.
