How to select the correct fryer heating element
The OEM or manufacturer reference is usually the most reliable starting point. For machine-specific heating elements, also verify the exact fryer model and, where stated, the machine version or production period before comparing electrical and mechanical specifications.
A practical selection order is:
- OEM or manufacturer reference – use the original part number or a confirmed compatible reference where available.
- Fryer manufacturer – identify the equipment brand.
- Exact model or fryer series – elements can differ between machines from the same manufacturer.
- Version or production period – check revision or production information where it is listed.
- Component configuration – distinguish a standard heating element, shaped or tilted element, complete heating assembly, heating-element kit or related mounting component.
- Voltage – verify the rated electrical supply stated for the exact part.
- Power – compare the rated wattage together with voltage and machine application.
- Electrical configuration – verify phase, terminals or wiring configuration where this information is explicitly available.
- Element dimensions – compare length, width, height, immersion depth or other stated dimensions.
- Mounting interface – check flange type, flange dimensions, threaded fittings and mounting centres where applicable.
- Temperature-control interface – verify holes, sleeves or other provisions for thermostat bulbs or temperature probes.
- Included components – check whether cables, O-rings, gaskets or other mounting parts are supplied with the element.
- Origin – distinguish OEM/original products from Compatible (non-original) replacements.
Do not select a fryer heating element from voltage, wattage or outside dimensions alone. The complete electrical and mechanical interface must match the fryer.
Voltage and wattage
Fryer heating elements are available with different combinations of voltage and power. These two specifications must be checked together and only after the correct machine or component reference has been identified.
For example, several elements in this category use 3000W at 230V, but they have different dimensions, mounting systems and machine applications. The 3000W 230V element for specified Fimar fryer applications is therefore not interchangeable with another 3000W 230V element simply because the electrical rating is the same.
The same rule applies to higher-power elements. Always verify machine/reference → voltage → wattage → electrical configuration → mounting interface.
230V, 400V and multi-voltage specifications
Some fryer elements are specified for a single nominal voltage while others are listed with voltage combinations such as 230/400V or 400/415V. Do not infer the wiring or phase configuration from the voltage notation alone.
Use the exact electrical specification stated for the component and machine. Where phase or terminal configuration is provided, verify this separately before installation.
Flanges, threads and mounting interfaces
Heating elements can use very different mounting systems even when voltage and wattage are similar. Depending on the element, the mechanical interface can consist of a flange, multiple threaded fittings or another mounting arrangement.
The Angelo Po OEM heating element rated 18000/19375W at 400/415V, for example, uses its own specified mounting configuration. Other elements in the category use threaded fittings or different flange dimensions.
Verify mounting type → flange or thread specification → mounting dimensions → element geometry. A matching electrical rating does not compensate for a different mechanical interface.
Element shape and physical dimensions
The overall shape of a fryer heating element is part of its compatibility. Compare all stated dimensions rather than only the total length.
Depending on the product, relevant measurements can include:
- overall length;
- width;
- height;
- immersion depth;
- distance between heating tubes;
- flange dimensions;
- thread or fitting position;
- mounting-centre distances.
Two elements with the same voltage and wattage can still have completely different dimensions and mounting geometry.
Thermostat bulbs and temperature-sensor provisions
Some fryer heating elements include dedicated holes, sleeves or supports for thermostat bulbs or temperature sensors. These features are part of the element configuration and should be checked during replacement.
The 12000W heating element for specified fryer and pasta-cooker applications, for example, is supplied with provisions for temperature-control bulbs as well as additional installation components.
Do not assume that another element with the same wattage provides the same thermostat or sensor interface.
Heating elements, assemblies and related components
Not every product associated with a fryer heating system is the same type of component. Depending on the machine, Brooks Parts can list individual heating elements, complete assemblies, heating-element kits and related mounting or thermostat components.
Determine exactly which part requires replacement before comparing the electrical rating. A complete assembly can include components that are not supplied with a standalone replacement element.
Included cables, O-rings and mounting parts
Some heating elements are supplied with additional installation components such as cables, O-rings, gaskets or other hardware. These supplied parts vary between products.
Check the product specification rather than assuming that two technically similar heating elements include the same installation parts.
Exact fryer model and production version
For machine-specific parts, the exact fryer model can be more important than the electrical rating alone. Some manufacturers use different heating elements across model revisions or production periods.
The Fagor OEM 12126506 tilted heating element is linked to specific Fagor fryer models. When this level of application data is available, use the OEM reference and exact machine information as the primary compatibility check.
Fryer heating elements by manufacturer

Where the information is available, distinguish:
- compatible machine manufacturer;
- OEM or manufacturer reference;
- exact fryer model;
- actual replacement manufacturer;
- Brooks reference;
- origin: OEM/original or Compatible (non-original).
A Compatible (non-original) heating element should not be interpreted as having been manufactured by the fryer brand simply because that brand or its original reference is used to describe compatibility.
