Technical Features of the Cimbali Junior
The Cimbali Junior shares many features with larger commercial espresso machines but includes unique aspects that make it stand out. The machine is equipped with a heat exchanger (HX) system, a configuration distinct from other brands. The heat exchanger is attached to the brewing group and connected directly to the boiler without the need for tubing, which is a typical feature in other models.
The brewing group in the Cimbali Junior is a solenoid-operated La Cimbali group head. This setup accommodates standard portafilters and portafilter gaskets, making replacements and upgrades straightforward.
The machine’s boiler is tubular with sealed flanges. On one side, the boiler houses the heating element, while the other side is attached to the brewing group, where the heat exchanger is located. The machine supports three types of heating elements: a 110V 1300W element, a 220V 1300W, and a 220V 1800W option, depending on the configuration.
Attached to the boiler are various components, including steam and water valves, as well as connections for the machine's water level indicators. The machine’s pressure switch regulates the operation of the heating element by turning it on and off when necessary.
For compactness, the Cimbali Junior uses a small Ulka vibration pump, which is sometimes replaced by a larger pump and motor combination, especially if users are dissatisfied with the Ulka vibration pump. The pump also fills the boiler as the machine is equipped with a small water tank.
Cimbali Junior Grinder
Along with the Cimbali Junior espresso machine, you can also opt for the Cimbali MD Junior grinder. This compact grinder, ideal for small spaces, offers a simple design that complements the espresso machine’s functionality, making it suitable for both small commercial setups and home use.
Difference Between La Cimbali Junior and the Cimbali M21 Junior
While the La Cimbali Junior and the Cimbali M21 Junior share similarities, they are different machines. The Cimbali Junior is a non-volumetric machine, meaning it does not have pre-set volumetric dosing options. In contrast, the Cimbali M21 Junior is available in both volumetric and non-volumetric models. Another significant difference is that the Cimbali Junior uses a vibration pump, whereas the M21 Junior is fitted with a more robust pump and motor assembly.
Cimbali Junior Spare Parts from Brooks
At Brooks Parts, we provide a wide range of spare parts for the Cimbali Junior espresso machine. These parts can be either OEM/original or aftermarket replacements. Given the age of this model, some parts may no longer be in production, and lead times can vary. This is especially true for parts from Gruppo Cimbali, where certain items might have longer wait times before availability.
