Model types of the Cimbali M27
Over the years there have been developed a variety of model versions of the Cimbali M27 coffee machine. There are a lot of similarities between them, such as that each version has a non volumetric version and a volumetric one. But the differences can be tricky if you want to find the right part, seen some model versions have a lot of parts which are not compatible with each other.
Cimbali M27
This is the oldest model of the M27 series, the Cimbali M27. This espresso machine came in a DT version, which is the volumetric one. The other one is the C model, which is the non volumetric model. It was made in 2 groups all the way up to 4 brewing groups.
For this model it was not standard that the espresso machine came with a pump and motor assembly, it was possible that you had the option of a vibration pump. For a commercial espresso machine this is not really a common thing, seen it’s not a ideal solution in our opinion.
Cimbali M27 2008
This version of the M27, Cimbali M27 2008 which is the middle model, and it was introduced in 2008 indicating the name. This one also came in a DT and a C model. This model did not come in a version with a vibration pump, this one was only available in the model which had a pump and motor configuration. Up to this model a lot of the parts are Cimbali spare parts, such as the brewing groups. But with the next version this all going to change.
Cimbali M27 RE
This is the latest version of the Cimbali M27, which is the Cimbali M27 RE espresso machine. This specific model is also available in a Volumetric and a non volumetric model, similar to the previous ones. But what the big difference is between this model and the previous ones is that this one uses more Faema components. The biggest difference is the brewing group, which is also a Faema brewing group. Because of this you can not use Cimbali parts on this group head. For instance a portafilter will not fit, you do need specifically a Faema portafilter for this. The Cimbali ones don’t fit.
The M27 RE does have, like the older models, a volumetric and a non volumetric version. The volumetric version of the M27, is called the M27 RE A. The non volumetric model of the M27 is the M27 RE S.
