How to find the correct slicer sharpening stone
Start with the information on the slicer, sharpening assembly or removed stone. An OEM, component or manufacturer reference is normally the strongest identification point. If the reference is not available, identify the exact slicer manufacturer, model or series before comparing the stone dimensions.
A practical selection order is OEM or sharpening-stone reference → slicer manufacturer → exact model or series → version or production period where relevant → fine or coarse function → outside diameter → stone height → centre bore → hub or mounting configuration → shape or bevel where relevant → OEM/original or compatible → product.
A matching brand, grain type, diameter or appearance alone does not confirm compatibility.
Fine versus coarse sharpening stones
Sharpening systems can use fine and coarse stones for different functions within the sharpening assembly. The required grain type must correspond with the position and function specified for the slicer.
Do not assume that a fine and coarse stone are interchangeable because they have the same outside diameter. Their height, centre bore, hub configuration or mounting arrangement can differ.
Some slicers use separate fine and coarse stones, while other products may be supplied as a matched sharpening-stone pair. Always verify the exact machine or reference before replacing one or both components.
Do not select a sharpening stone by diameter alone

Stone diameter, height and centre bore
Many slicer sharpening stones can be identified by a dimension format based on outside diameter × height × centre bore. These three values are useful for comparing components, but they should be used together rather than individually.
The centre bore determines how the stone locates on its spindle or hub. A stone with the correct outside diameter but the wrong centre bore or height is not automatically suitable for the same sharpening assembly.
Hub, mounting configuration and bevel
Some sharpening stones use an integrated or separate hub, while others can have a different mounting arrangement or a specific bevel or profile. These construction details form part of the technical interface and can be essential for correct identification.
Where the product specifies a hub, bevel, mounting feature or other shape detail, compare this with the removed component and the intended slicer application. Similar dimensions do not override a different mounting configuration.
Single sharpening stones and stone pairs
A sharpening assembly can contain more than one stone. Depending on the slicer design, fine and coarse stones can be installed as separate components or supplied together as a pair.
When replacing only one stone, identify its exact function and position within the sharpening assembly. When replacing a pair, confirm that both stones and their mounting components correspond with the exact slicer model.
Sharpening stones by slicer manufacturer
