The La Pavoni Bar espresso machine is a pump operated espresso machine. This is also the case with the Pavoni Bar V model. This model is equipped with a individual motor and pump, which is quite common with most commercial La Pavoni espresso machines.
The motors installed on this espresso machine is made by the Italian company RPM. What type of motor depends on how many brewing groups the Pavoni Bar V has. Seen the 2 group model has a different motor/pump then the 3 and 4 group versions. On the 2 group version you have a 100W motor, and on the 3-4 group model a 160W model. These motors are both made by the Italian company RPM. Both the models are what you call a clamp on motor.
With this type of connection you fix the motor to the pump with a stainless steel clamp, which is compressed by turning a screw clockwise. The pumps used on La Pavoni espresso machines are in a case different then most pumps, seen they have removable copper/brass shaft. These models are made by the Procon brand. You can also use a regular pump on these motors. For the 2 group version a 100L/h model is used and on the 3-4 group version a 180L/H model is used.
