This valve is operated by turning the steam valve counter clockwise to open the valve and clockwise to close the valve. The threaded axle in the steam valve pushes a shaft inwards, which opens the valve. Once the valve is closed a compression spring pushes the valve gasket back in it’s place to close off the valve.
The Spaziale S8 does has 2 types of steam tubes. Seen there is a “take away” version of the S8 espresso machine. So the steam tube will also be longer
