The espresso machine on this page is the ECM Classika PID espresso machine. which has a lot of similarities with the ECM Classika II espresso machine. Where the Classika II espresso machine is controlled with a manual thermostat, the PID is controlled with a electronic temperature controller PID.
This espresso machine is fitted with a small water tank on the back, not with a main water supply. From the tank the water is pumped to fill the boiler and used for the brewing pressure. The type of pump used is a Ulka vibration pump.
The ECM Classika PID has been fitted with a small vertical boiler, which is powered with a 1000W heating element. Which is available in a 110V and a 230V configuration. This heating element is controlled by a thermal PID controller. With this controller you can set the boiler water temperature rather accurate.
The brewing group which has been used on the ECM Classika PID is one of the model called E61 style, which is one of the most used brewing groups on espresso machines. Note: not all the components are compatible with other E61 style brewing groups.
