The history of Nuova Simonelli starts in 1936 with column type of espresso coffee machine, in this period before the 2nd world war this was a really common model type. The company was not called Nuova Simonelli, but just Simonelli. This changed in 1969 to Nuova Simonelli. During the period from the 2nd world war up to the turn of the century Nuova Simonelli launched a variety of iconic models. Such as the NS Eureka and the NS Yacht Club

Nuova Simonelli portafilter
The portafilters used on Nuova Simonelli espresso machines are all the same, it does not matter if you have a domestic model or a commercial style of NS. These portafilters have a ear orientation of 45 degree and a ear thickness of 7mm. The NS portafilters can also be used on most Victoria Arduino brewing groups.
Nuova Simonelli pump
The pumps on the Nuova Simonelli espresso machines are in most cases pumps made by the Italian manufacturer Fluid o Tech. But you can use any brand which does have similar connections. So that is a rectangular shaft and a stainless steel clamp to fix the pump to the motor.

It has been fitted with one of the Nuova Simonelli brewing groups and a vibration pump. This pump is also used to pump the water from the water reservoir at the back into the boiler.
Nuova Simonelli Appia 2
The Nuova Simonelli Appia II is a commercial grade espresso machine, which is a older model. It is available in a volumetric and a non volumetric version. The boiler installed on this espresso machine works on the principle of a heat exchanger (HX). This espresso machine is made in a 2, 3 and a 4 group version. So there is probably a version of the Nuova Simonelli Appia available which will work for your bar.
Nuova Simonelli Musica
This Nuova Simonelli espresso machine is also a domestic coffee machine, the Nuova Simonelli Musica, but with a lot of features which are common on commercial Nuova Simonelli espresso machines. This espresso machine has the same features as the Oscar II, such as a water tank and a vibration pump. But It can also be connected to the main water line. So you can use this in basically any domestic situation.
