This espresso machine is one of the few dual boiler coffee machines around, especially for a domestic coffee machine. But at some point in life the Rocket R58 will also break down and seals start to leak. On this page you can find the most of the parts for the Rocket R58 espresso machine
The Rocket R58 has quite a lot of technical features installed. In this case you mainly need to think of electronic temperature control. Most espresso machines make use of temperature control with a pressure switch
The Rocket R58 espresso machine has, as one of the few, a double boiler. You normally only see this on the commercial high end espresso machines. But now on the Rocket R58 coffee machine. The small boiler, which has a 1400W heating element, is used for the water for the brewing group.
The boiler used for the steam and water boiler is a heating element, with the same wattage of 1400W, which has a different design the ones used on the coffee boiler. The total of 2800W of heating power is plenty enough of heating power.
The Rocket R58 is also fitted with a manual E61 style of brewing group, as you see with most domestic Rocket espresso machines. A lot of the parts used on the E61 style of brewing groups are universal, but there are also various which are unique to the brand Rocket.
Where most domestic espresso machines, also from Rocket, use a Ulka vibration pump. The Rocket R58 doesn’t use a vibration pump. They use a pump and motor assembly. The motor is made by the Italian company RPM and the pump is made by Fluid o tech, but if you have a pump with similar specs you can also use that one as well.
The water tank on the back of the Rocket R58 makes it possible that you don’t have to have a main water connection. From this water tank the water is pumped into the water boilers of the espresso machine. This needs to be pumped, seen the boilers are pressurized.
Keeping your Rocket R58 espresso machine is good working condition is very important if you want to keep the quality of your espresso at a high level. Besides that keeping your coffee machine clean will also result in extending the longevity of the espresso machine.
Backflushing your brewing group should be a daily routine if you want to keep your espresso machine in the best possible condition. For this you will need a blind filter filterbasket and a cleaner, such as the Puly Caff powder. For full instructions on how to clean your brewing group just check out Blog posts about this topic.
With a typical Heat Exchanger (HX) espresso machine boiler it is possible that you descale your espresso machine via the water tank. But in the case of a dual boiler espresso machine we do advice to not do this. The most important thing is that you use a proper water filter for your Rocket R58, note: this does not prevent the build up of scale, but reduces a lot.
