This means that there is a diagonal tube running true the boiler, which is used to heat the water for the brewing group. This heat comes from the heat of the steam/water boiler.
The heating element installed in this boiler produces 1200W, this can be a 115V version or a 230V model. This does depends on which kind of model you have. To control this heating element there is a pressure switch installed, this switch stops the heating element once the pressure in the steam boiler is too high.
