How to find the correct Vibiemme spare part

Vibiemme, also known as VBM, has produced a wide range of domestic and commercial espresso machines. Different machines can use different brewing groups, boiler systems, pumps, valves and electronic controls. A component may fit several Vibiemme models, while another part with a very similar appearance may only fit one particular version.

Before ordering, check:

  • the complete Vibiemme or VBM model name;
  • the machine version or generation;
  • whether the machine is domestic or commercial;
  • the number of brewing groups;
  • the production period or serial number;
  • the machine voltage;
  • the voltage and wattage of electrical components;
  • the original Vibiemme part number;
  • the thread, connection and mounting dimensions;
  • the position and function of the original component.

If no original part number is visible, compare the old component carefully with the photographs, dimensions and technical information on the product page. Electrical, hydraulic and pressure-related components should not be selected solely because they look similar.

Domestic Vibiemme espresso machines

Vibiemme is well known for the Domobar family of domestic espresso machines. Different Domobar generations and versions can use different boiler systems, pumps, temperature controls and electrical components.

Vibiemme Domobar Junior

The Domobar Junior has been produced in different technical configurations. When selecting Vibiemme Domobar Junior parts, check whether the component is intended for the exact boiler configuration and production version of your machine.

Common service parts include brewing-group gaskets, shower screens, group valves, pumps, heating elements, pressure components, steam-valve parts and electrical controls.

Vibiemme Domobar Super

The Domobar Super range includes several generations and control configurations. Depending on the version, components such as heating elements, temperature controllers, pumps, gauges and electronic parts can differ.

Browse the available Vibiemme Domobar Super parts and compare the original part number, electrical specification and machine version before ordering.

Other Domobar versions

Vibiemme has also used the Domobar name for other versions, including later electronically controlled machines such as the Domobar Digitale. Do not assume that a component listed for a Domobar Junior or Domobar Super automatically fits every machine carrying the Domobar name.

For electronic controls, temperature probes and displays, the complete part code and connector arrangement are especially important.

Commercial Vibiemme espresso machines

Vibiemme has also produced a broad range of professional machines for cafés, restaurants and other commercial applications. These machines may use one or more brewing groups, larger boilers, rotary pumps, automatic boiler filling and volumetric dosing systems.

Vibiemme Replica

The Vibiemme Replica family includes different group and control configurations. Depending on the version, the machine may use manually operated or electronically controlled brewing systems, and individual components can vary significantly.

When selecting Vibiemme Replica parts, identify the exact machine version, number of groups and type of brewing-group control.

Vibiemme Lollo

The Vibiemme Lollo is a professional machine available in different configurations. Group parts, dosing controls, touch panels, steam valves and boiler components should be selected according to the exact machine version.

Browse the Vibiemme Lollo parts.

Vibiemme Chimaera

The Vibiemme Chimaera uses commercial-scale hydraulic, boiler and electrical components. When selecting Vibiemme Chimaera parts, check the number of groups, electrical specification and original Vibiemme reference.

Vibiemme Cubo

The Vibiemme Cubo has its own model-specific category for components used in the brewing group, steam system, water circuit and electrical controls. Browse the available Vibiemme Cubo parts and confirm compatibility using the part number and technical dimensions.

Vibiemme Dosaplus

The Dosaplus uses components for brewing, dosing, steam and water control, boiler heating and automatic filling. Electrical components can depend on voltage and machine configuration.

Browse the available Vibiemme Dosaplus parts.

Vibiemme Evolution

For the Vibiemme Evolution, identify the exact machine configuration when selecting group parts, valves, pumps, heating elements or electronics. Components used on visually similar Vibiemme commercial machines are not automatically interchangeable.

Browse the Vibiemme Evolution parts.

Vibiemme Kometa

The Vibiemme Kometa uses its own combination of brewing-group, hydraulic and electrical components. Check the Vibiemme part number and the listed model compatibility before ordering.

Browse the Vibiemme Kometa parts.

Vibiemme Mercury

The Mercury shares some components with other Vibiemme commercial machines, while other parts are specific to the model. Steam valves, pipes, controls and hydraulic components should therefore be checked individually.

Browse the Vibiemme Mercury parts.

Vibiemme Minimax

The Minimax category contains components for the brewing system, pumps, valves, heating circuit and electrical controls. Compare dimensions and part numbers even when a component is also listed for another Vibiemme model.

Browse the Vibiemme Minimax parts.

Brewing-group parts

Vibiemme has used different brewing-group configurations across its domestic and commercial machine ranges. Many machines use group designs related to the classic E61 principle, but the exact components and method of operation can differ between models and generations.

Common service parts include:

  • portafilter gaskets;
  • shower screens;
  • group valves and valve seals;
  • springs and valve pins;
  • diffusers and jets;
  • solenoid valves;
  • group-to-frame and group-to-boiler gaskets.

Water leaking around the portafilter is often associated with a worn group gasket, but it can also be caused by:

  • a worn or damaged portafilter;
  • an incorrect filter basket;
  • coffee residue around the gasket seat;
  • an incorrectly fitted gasket;
  • wear in the locking surfaces.

Slow or irregular water flow can be related to the shower screen, diffuser, jet, valve assembly, solenoid valve or another restriction in the brewing circuit. Inspect the complete water path before replacing individual components.

For additional parts, browse:

Vibiemme portafilters

Many Vibiemme domestic and commercial machines use portafilters with a similar locking geometry, but this should not be treated as universal across every VBM machine.

Before ordering a replacement portafilter, check:

  • the diameter of the filter basket;
  • the orientation of the locking ears;
  • the thickness of the ears;
  • the locking position in the brewing group;
  • whether a single, double or bottomless configuration is required.

A portafilter that accepts the same filter-basket diameter is not automatically suitable for the brewing group. Compare the actual locking dimensions and the listed Vibiemme models.

Pumps and water supply

Different Vibiemme machines can use vibration or rotary pumps depending on the model and configuration. Pump type, voltage, mounting and hydraulic connections must therefore be checked before ordering.

A machine that does not build brewing pressure does not automatically require a replacement pump. Also inspect:

  • the water tank or mains water supply;
  • the inlet hose and water filter;
  • the pump capacitor where applicable;
  • the bypass or pressure adjustment;
  • non-return and inlet valves;
  • blockages in the hydraulic circuit;
  • electrical power to the pump.

When replacing a pump, compare the voltage, frequency, inlet and outlet connections, flow direction, mounting arrangement and original part number.

Browse our range of espresso machine pumps.

Boilers and heating elements

Vibiemme machines have been produced with different boiler sizes, heating systems and electrical configurations. Domestic and commercial machines can use very different heating elements even when the connection style looks similar.

Before ordering a heating element, check:

  • the complete machine model;
  • the mains voltage;
  • the wattage of the heating element;
  • the boiler in which it is installed;
  • the flange or thread dimensions;
  • the immersed length;
  • the number and position of the electrical terminals;
  • the original Vibiemme part number.

If a boiler does not heat, the heating element is not necessarily defective. Depending on the machine, the problem may also involve the pressure switch, thermostat, temperature probe, contactor, relay, level controller, wiring or electronic control.

Browse our espresso machine heating elements.

Steam and hot-water valves

Vibiemme steam and hot-water valves contain wear components such as valve shafts, seals, O-rings, springs, bushes, knobs and steam tubes.

A valve that leaks while closed may have a worn seal or valve seat. Difficult operation may be caused by contamination, scale, a damaged shaft, a worn bush or incorrect assembly.

Similar-looking Vibiemme valves can have different inlet connections, outlet connections, shafts or internal components. Compare the original Vibiemme reference, thread sizes and dimensions before ordering.

Browse our steam valves and steam-valve parts.

Solenoid valves

Vibiemme machines can use solenoid valves for brewing-group control, automatic boiler filling and other functions in the hydraulic circuit.

When replacing a solenoid valve, check:

  • the coil voltage;
  • whether the valve is two-way or three-way;
  • the thread or flange connection;
  • the flow direction;
  • the position and function in the machine;
  • the original Vibiemme part number.

A valve that does not operate is not automatically caused by a defective coil. Scale, contamination, a blocked valve core or an electrical fault can produce similar symptoms.

Browse our espresso machine solenoid valves.

Automatic boiler filling and level control

Professional Vibiemme machines and many domestic models use automatic boiler-level control. Depending on the machine, this system can include a level probe, electronic level regulator, inlet solenoid valve and related wiring.

If the boiler does not fill, overfills or fills intermittently, inspect the complete system before replacing the electronic controller.

Possible causes include:

  • scale or contamination on the level probe;
  • a loose probe connection;
  • a blocked water inlet;
  • a defective inlet valve or coil;
  • a damaged level regulator;
  • an interruption in the water supply;
  • poor electrical contact between the probe system and the machine.

Pressure switches, gauges and pressure control

Depending on the model, Vibiemme machines can use mechanical pressure switches, pressure gauges, electronic temperature controls or combinations of these components.

Before replacing a pressure switch, check:

  • the pressure range;
  • the electrical rating;
  • the number and type of electrical connections;
  • the thread size;
  • the original Vibiemme reference.

A pressure gauge should be selected according to its pressure scale, connection position, connection thread, capillary or pipe arrangement and mounting diameter.

Electronic controls and dosing devices

Commercial Vibiemme machines can use dosing devices, level regulators, touch panels, push-button panels, switches, contactors and electronic control boards. Later domestic models can also use electronic temperature controllers, probes and displays.

Electronic components that look identical are not automatically interchangeable. Check:

  • the complete code printed on the original component;
  • the supply voltage;
  • the number of brewing groups;
  • the connector arrangement;
  • the machine model;
  • the production version.

For additional controls, browse our espresso machine dosing devices.

Original and compatible Vibiemme parts

This category contains both original Vibiemme components and compatible replacement parts from other manufacturers.

An original part is supplied according to the Vibiemme specification. A compatible component is intended as an alternative to one or more stated Vibiemme part numbers.

Compatible does not mean universally suitable for every Vibiemme machine. Always verify:

  • the Vibiemme part number;
  • the listed machine models;
  • the machine generation;
  • the dimensions;
  • the material;
  • the voltage and wattage;
  • the hydraulic or electrical configuration.

For gaskets, springs and other simple mechanical wear parts, a compatible component can be a suitable alternative when all relevant specifications match. Electrical, pressure-related and safety-critical parts require particularly careful verification.

Shared and model-specific Vibiemme parts

Some Vibiemme components are used on several models. This is common with certain gaskets, valves, fittings, pumps, level controls and electrical components.

Other components are specific to one model, production generation or group configuration. Do not assume that a part fits another Vibiemme machine simply because the manufacturer is the same.

Where several Vibiemme models are listed on a product page, confirm that the technical specification also matches your machine.

Domestic and commercial parts are not always interchangeable

Vibiemme has produced both compact domestic machines and larger professional espresso machines. Some service parts may be shared, but boilers, heating elements, pumps, electronics, valves and brewing-group components can differ considerably.

The number of brewing groups is particularly important on commercial machines because it can affect heating power, control electronics, touch panels and hydraulic components.

Always identify the complete machine configuration rather than choosing a component only because it is described as a Vibiemme part.

Cleaning and preventive maintenance

Regular cleaning does not prevent every technical fault, but it helps keep the brewing group, valves, steam system and hydraulic circuit in good condition.

Common maintenance tasks include:

  • cleaning the brewing group and shower screen;
  • removing coffee residue around the portafilter gasket;
  • cleaning steam tubes immediately after use;
  • checking hoses and fittings for leaks;
  • inspecting valve seals and O-rings;
  • monitoring water quality and scale formation.

Do not descale a professional or domestic Vibiemme machine automatically according to a fixed schedule without considering the water treatment, boiler condition and machine design. Incorrect descaling can release deposits that subsequently block valves, jets or pipes.

A short note about Vibiemme and VBM

Vibiemme is also widely referred to as VBM. Both names are used for the same espresso-machine manufacturer and can appear on machines, spare-part references and technical documentation.

When searching for a component, it can therefore be useful to search using both the Vibiemme or VBM name together with the machine model and original part number.

Cannot find the correct Vibiemme part?

Record the complete Vibiemme model name, machine version and serial number. Also note every code printed on the original component.

Clear photographs can help distinguish between visually similar parts. Include photographs of:

  • the complete component;
  • its electrical or hydraulic connections;
  • any printed numbers or labels;
  • the mounting points;
  • the position in which it is installed.

For additional components, browse our complete range of espresso machine parts.
