Manual Steam Valve
The manual steam valve used on the Astoria Divina is a standard type of valve commonly found in Astoria CMA espresso machines. This valve is operated by turning the valve knob:
- Counterclockwise to open the valve
- Clockwise to close it
The steam valve on the Divina is fitted with a 109mm shaft, though it's important to note that shaft lengths can vary across different Astoria models. Additionally, the valve features a swivel joint, which allows the steam tube to rotate a full 360 degrees, giving the barista flexibility in positioning the steam wand for milk frothing.
Water Valve: Manual and Solenoid-Operated
The water valve on the Astoria Divina can either be manual or solenoid-operated.
-
Manual water valve: This is identical to the manual steam valve in design and operation. However, unlike the steam valve, the water outlet on the manual valve does not have a swivel joint and remains fixed in place.
-
Solenoid-operated water valve: This type of valve is activated by the push of a button, allowing for automatic water dispensing. The solenoid-operated water valve is more common in automated or higher-end models, offering ease of use when compared to the manual version.
Conclusion
The steam and water valves on the Astoria Divina espresso machine provide flexibility and precision. Whether you prefer the manual control of turning a knob or the convenience of a solenoid-operated valve for water, these components ensure that your machine operates smoothly. Brooks Parts offers a wide range of valve components for the Astoria Divina, from manual steam valves with swivel joints to solenoid-operated water valves.
