The Astoria CMA brand uses a variety of mechanical pressure switches and various pressure sensors on their espresso machines. What does a pressure switch do? A pressure switch cuts down the power to the heating element when the pressure inside the boiler reaches a certain pre-set pressure. A pressure sensor measures the pressure inside the boiler and when it reaches the pre-set temperature it will turn the power off towards the heating element.
The pressure switches used on the Astoria espresso machines are the Asco/Sirai P302/6, the Parker 3 pole switch, ES31 pre-set switch, Ma-ter XP110 and the Ma-ter XP111. These pressure switches can be found on espresso machines such as the Astoria Argenta, Astoria Divina, Astoria Gloria, Astoria Pratic, Astoria Rapallo and the Astoria Vania.
