Shower screen

The espresso machine shower screen is one of the most important items in a espresso machine. This item needs regular cleaning and cleaning seen the shower screen determines how your coffee is going to taste.

There are a variety of espresso machine shower screen, almost all of them are made by the Italian company IMS filtri. They have basically 2 model types. The shower screen which is held in place with a screw and one which is held in place with a friction fit.

The screw shower screens are used on espresso machine brands such as Astoria, Cimbali, Gaggia, Rancilio, La Spaziale, Nuova Simonelli, Victoria Arduino, La San Marco and Conti.

The friction fit shower screen is used for instance on all e61 and e61 style of brewing groups, with for instance Faema, Bezzera, Rocket, ECM Heidelberg, San Remo,

Besides the “standard” shower screens there are also competition shower screens, which have in some cases a nanotech coating. These competition shower screen normally have a much finer mesh then the standard versions.
