Sizes of Single Filter Baskets

The most common size for single filter baskets is the 70 mm diameter, which is compatible with popular espresso machine brands such as Faema, La Marzocco, Slayer, Nuova Simonelli, Bezzera, and La Pavoni. These baskets typically have a height ranging from approximately 20 mm to 25 mm, making them versatile for many espresso setups.
A less common size is the 68 mm basket, primarily used in La Cimbali machines and occasionally in some Faema models. These baskets are available in a single height of 18 mm.
For brands like Spaziale, La San Marco, and select models from Astoria and Wega, you will find smaller filter baskets with an outer diameter of 65 mm. These tend to be a bit taller, around 25 mm, and may vary between models, so it's essential to verify compatibility with your specific machine.

Specialty or competition coffee baskets are a premium option, often costing three to four times more than standard filter baskets. They come in all the sizes mentioned earlier but feature enhanced design elements such as improved perforation areas, an increased number of holes, and optimized shapes. Additionally, these baskets are electropolished, which can improve the overall extraction process. While these features may not seem significant, they can noticeably impact your espresso quality.
