This model type of the Classe 11 can be found on various other models of Rancilio, the Xcelsius. The Xcelsius principle of Rancilio basically means a multi boiler system. In this case you have a main steam/water boiler and each individual brewing group has it’s own individual boiler. These boilers are controlled with the help of a temperature controller. In this case the boiler is integrated in the brewing group of the espresso machine, which you also see with the Cimbali M100 models.
Where the Classe 11 USB is more a “traditional type of espresso machine. Where you have a central boiler which generates steam and hot water, but has heat exchanger (HX) tubes running diagonally true the boiler. This is btw also the case with the 11 USB Xcelsius espresso machines, which basically pre-heats the water for the brewing group boilers.
The Rancilio Classe 11 are both made in various versions. They have in common that they are made in a 2, 3 and a 4 group model. So for almost every bar owner or barista you can find a suitable Classe 11, these versions are also available in a tall cup version. This is ideal for take a way coffee or for Latte macchiato. They come also with various steam wand features such as the Rancilio C-lever valves and the cool touch steam wand. Additionally you can also go for the patented I steam wand of Rancilio.
This espresso machine is not available in a 110/120V configuration, which you have with other models of Rancilio. You only have them in 220/240V or in 380-415V. The boilers used
One of the most recognizable features is the front touchscreen, with a integrated display. The advantage of this is that the front of the display is a flat plate. Which makes it a lot more hygienic and easier to clean then when you have touch panel buttons.
