Main Power Cables
The main type of cable used in espresso machines is the power cable, which is responsible for powering the heating elements. These cables are specially designed to handle the high temperatures that occur within the espresso machine. It's important to note that standard household wire cannot be used for this purpose, even if it is not in direct contact with hot objects. The high temperatures inside the machine would cause the standard wire’s sheathing to deteriorate rapidly. To prevent this, the sheathing on these cables is made from silicone and reinforced with fiberglass, ensuring the cables can withstand the heat and continue to function properly.
Connector Blocks
Another important component you will find is the connector block, which is used to connect various electrical parts within the espresso machine. These are essential for connecting dosing devices, ensuring that signals and power are transmitted to and from the appropriate components. Connector blocks are typically designed for ease of use, allowing for secure and efficient connections between electrical systems.
Terminal Blocks
Terminal blocks are used for connecting the main power cables inside the espresso machine. These blocks allow for a secure connection between various parts of the machine’s power system, helping to ensure that electricity is routed properly to each component. Terminal blocks are designed for durability and safety, as they must handle high voltage and current from the main power source.
Flat Ribbon Cables
Flat ribbon cables are commonly used to connect various electrical components inside espresso machines. These cables are designed for specific connections, such as linking the dosing device to the touch panel. Flat ribbon cables allow for a streamlined connection between the two parts, helping to manage the communication between the machine's internal systems efficiently. These cables are thin, flexible, and ideal for connecting delicate components without taking up too much space inside the espresso machine.
