History of Bezzera dal 1901
The company Bezzera is the oldest espresso machine manufacturer up to this date. It was founded over a century ago in 1901. Which was done by Luigi Bezzera. From the beginning of the century up to the second world war most of the espresso machines where not how you see them today.
They where big vertical machines which didn’t had a pump or a spring to generate the pressure for making a espresso. The traditional lever operated espresso machines came just before the second world war.
With the invention of the use of a pump on a espresso machine, by Faema in the early 60’s. This was also implemented by Bezzera. But the lever brewing groups did also remain. Most older espresso machine manufacturers did discontinue this.
Bezzera espresso machine models
The italian brand Bezzera has made a variety of espresso machine models over the years. Both domestic and commercial models.
Bezzera Magica
The Bezzera Magica is one of the more popular models for domestic use. Seen it has enough capacity with the horizontal heat exchanger (HX) boiler. Which can be temperature controlled instead of pressure controlled. But one of the other important features which makes this espresso machine so popular, is the e61 style of brewing group. It has a reason that a lot of coffee machine brands use a e61 style of brewing group.
Bezzera Mitica
The Bezzera Mitica coffee machine is one of the better selling espresso machines of Bezzera. This is as well a domestic model. So pretty compact, but with features you also find on commercial coffee equipment.
Bezzera Strega
The Bezzera Strega is a domestic espresso machine, but not like most Bezzera models. This specific coffee machine is fitted with a lever brewing group. The brand Bezzera is one of the few left which still makes lever operated brewing groups.
Using a lever operated espresso machine, so when the brewing pressure is created with the spring inside the lever group. Can be quite challenging in the beginning and it takes a lot more practice then with a pump operated espresso machine.
Bezzera coffee grinders
The brand Bezzera is not really well known for their coffee grinders, but they do have a variety of them available. These are mainly suitable in a domestic setting.
Bezzera Sirio Q
The Sirio Q is one of the latest Bezzera coffee grinders added to the assortment of Bezzera. This coffee grinder is a on demand grinder. This specific model has been fitted with a set of flat grinding burrs. It can be used for espresso as well as for filter coffee. For a busy bar this is not a ideal coffee grinder.
Bezzera M80
The Bezzera MD80 coffee grinder is a small coffee grinder which is ideal for a small bar or just domestic use. It comes in a doser version and a version which only grinds the coffee “on demand”. The grinder itself is made in a 110V and a 230V single phase configuration and is made in the colours black, red and white.
