La San Marco 100 - Steam/water valve

The steam and water valve which is used on the San Marco 100 espresso is a standard type of San Marco steam and water valve which is used on basically every espresso machine they use.

How does this type of valve work? You can push the valve handle in any direction to open the valve. The valve handle has on the end of the rod a half round circle. When the lever is moved in any direction the handle will push in a stainless steel rod in the valve which pushes the valve open. Once the handle is set at the original position it will close again.

There is also a newer version for the water valve. This is a solenoid operated mixing valve. There comes hot water from the boiler and cold water from the water main.
