The La Cimbali M23 UP espresso machine is one of the few brewing groups on a Cimbali espresso machine which isn´t the typical Cimbali group head. This type of brewing group is mainly used on Faema espresso machines and a standard La Cimbali portafilter does not fit this model of brewing group.
The water going into the brewing group comes from the heat exchanger which is located inside the boiler. The water is held by a 3 way solenoid valve, once the brewing process starts the solenoid valve opens and water flows out of the brewing group.
The shower screen used on this brewing group is also different then the typical Cimbali ones, this one is held in place with the friction of the portafilter gasket. The shower screen has a diameter of 60mm and the portafilter gasket has a outer diameter of 74mm and a inner diameter of 58mm.
